What you will do
Masco Corporation has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced finance leader who is multifaceted, innovative, and highly motivated to join our Financial Reporting team. The Director of Financial Reporting position provides leadership and oversight for a broad range of duties within Finance including accounting, financial reporting, partner service levels, ad hoc financial analysis, standardized process oversight and optimization, and team member talent development. This director position ensures a high level of service to Masco. This includes responsibility for overseeing the consolidation process, review of SEC filed financial statements (Form 10-Q, 10-K and 11-K filings) and other government submitted information, as well as accounting and analysis for domestic and international business unit matters and special projects, including mergers and acquisitions. In addition, this director will be responsible for maintaining our global accounting policies, adopting new accounting standards, and monitoring and implementing other regulatory requirements, including ESG reporting compliance.
How you will do it
Oversees the monthly consolidation of over 25 operating and non-operating entities
Directs the timely and accurate financial reporting each quarter-end
Leads the finance function over sustainability reporting
Provides critical expertise on various complex US GAAP matters, including but not limited to revenue recognition, leases, employee benefits, stock-based compensation, acquisition accounting, impairment testing, and statement of cash flows
Prepares and reviews technical accounting white paper position papers
Oversees quarterly financial statement analysis
Leads all aspects of Masco's accounting policies
Ensures compliance with ESG reporting regulations
Facilitates and leads significant meetings with executives (Masco and business units)
Sets objectives for department and provides mentoring and coaching to direct reports and other team members
Identifies and leads continuous improvement activities related to accounting, analysis, reporting and service
Coordinates and works directly with internal and external auditors, tax, financial planning and analysis, legal, environmental, health and safety, and business development
Provides ad hoc analysis and reporting
What we look for
10 years or more of professional experience with progressively increasing financial leadership responsibilities with current or past financial reporting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a concentration in accounting
CPA is required
Proficient in US GAAP and SEC regulations
High degree of professional excellence characterized by sound independent judgment, initiative, standard of ethics and an aptitude to lead and develop others
Strong business intuition, can navigate complexity and ambiguity to cultivate breakthrough thinking and create winning strategies, has a track record of problem-solving, anticipating customer needs and future demands
Excellent prioritization and project management skills and executes with urgency to drive actions and resolutions. Ability to manage the details, but also stay focused on the big picture and work with minimal direct supervision
Demonstrated continuous improvement experience. Ability to identify opportunities and solutions, is constantly curious, and possesses a continuous improvement mindset
Proven track record in mentoring and coaching team members and can encourage and empower teams to achieve optimal performance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborates well, stretches themselves and others, and cultivates inclusion
Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization and maintain confidentiality
Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel
Developed skills in Workiva, ProLease and SmartView are highly desired
Travel may occur occasionally
