Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities):
- Teach synchronous adult basic education classes Monday through Friday (day or evening) with some weekend availability.
- Teach synchronous and asynchronous classes for ESL and regular ABE Monday through Friday with day and evening availability.
- Facilitate all learning activities for the C.A.P.E. bootcamps, ABE and ESL instruction
- Deliver rigorous instruction according to the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS).
- Deliver TABE/CASAS pre-tests for all students entering in the program.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by state regulations.
- Travel to satellite locations to teach courses as needed.
- Must be able to multi-task, and focus with composure, in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills in oral and written form.
- Thorough knowledge of office administration (including office machines and equipment, and computer software).
- Participate in professional development trainings as outlined by the grant.
- Participate and complete testing training for TABE and CASAS exams.
- Performs and participate in other related duties as assigned by the Center for Health Policy and the Division of Student Affairs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- In- depth knowledge of teaching methods and educational procedures.
- Proven abilities to work efficiently and effectively with local and state agencies.
- Must be organized, creative, independent, self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, driven by excellence and have positive attitude.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with program staff and comply with College employee policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students’, management, staff, and the community.
- Must be able to maintain flexibility and adaptable and programmatic goals and needs change according to state guidelines and mandates.
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of a High School or High School Equivalency Diploma required.
- Experience working with adults and understanding adult basic education curriculum preferred.
