Reports to: Building Principal
Position Overview:
The Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher provides instruction, manages the classroom environment, and promotes student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute follows lesson plans, school policies, and procedures to ensure continuity of instruction and a safe, positive learning experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow and implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
Maintain established routines, classroom management procedures, and expectations for student behavior.
Deliver instruction in a manner consistent with the grade level and subject area.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch areas, playgrounds, and other assigned locations.
Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Report any incidents, concerns, or unusual behavior to the principal or designated staff.
Leave detailed notes for the regular classroom teacher regarding student progress, attendance, and any issues that arose.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
