Job Title: Research Education and Policy Specialist
Grade: 24
Salary: $87,405 - $105,485
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Research Education and Policy Specialist position at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI). The Research Education and Policy Specialist supports the work of the NYSPI Human Research Protection Program's (HRPP) education and policy program to promote the ethical conduct of clinical research and compliance with all institutional, federal, state, and local regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures communication for HRPP education programming and policies to research team members in collaboration with HRPP leaders, intranet webmaster, and communication staff.
- Coordinates and project manage HRPP education programming, including but not limited to, providing administrative oversight (i.e. scheduling, training records management, development/management of workplans), collaborating with SMEs (subject matter experts), advertising, and utilizing virtual communications platforms (i.e Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Utilizes learning technologies (i.e. learning management systems, e-authoring applications, gamification training tools) to deliver, manage, and evaluate HRPP education programming.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of course content, guidance documents, and other training tools and materials in collaboration with SMEs to support HRPP education programming and policies.
- Recommends and adopts training tools and training delivery mechanisms to support adult learning methodologies.
- Manages Continuing Education (CE) activities and associated requirements.
- Maintains processes, project plans, and meeting minutes to ensure HRPP policy development and revisions are aligned with institutional needs and institutional, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Supports research on best practices, industry trends, and regulations for HRPP education and policies through literature searches and information collection( i.e. focus groups, surveys).
- Performs data management tasks to support HRPP education and policy program metrics for evaluation and reporting efforts
- Operates under a service-oriented approach to provide assistance to NYSPI research team members on HRPP education programming and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least (2) years experience in human subjects research or at an academic medical center, preferred.
