The Senior Accountant I assist in planning and carrying out policies relating to all phases of accounting and finance activity of moderate complexity by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate representatives and promoting efficient and effective operations commensurate with corporate goals and objectives. This position primarily supports the Rehabilitative Services line of business.

  • Establishes and maintains SOPs for the corporate accounting systems and general ledger incorporating applicable internal controls.
  • Supports the Accounting Director in developing, implementing, and documenting accounting procedures, primarily billing of various customers for new services or new systems.
  • Responsible for analysis and accounting review of standard contracts and agreements to ensure accuracy and appropriate accounting procedures are established and implemented.
  • Responsible for oversight and/or processing of receivables and collections and general ledger.
  • Responsible for timely billing to funders of all Rehabilitative services including DRS and Medicaid and entry into the accounting system and external portals.
  • Maintain and update consumer data and rates in the accounting system.
  • Provide guidance to the Accounting Specialist supporting the billing, collection, and reporting functions.
  • Monthly reconciliation and review of posted Rehabilitative revenue and review of routine expenses to ensure all data is entered accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Research, reconcile, and post cash receipts of moderate complexity into the accounting system and assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Reporting Accounts Receivable concerns to department managers in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze, review, and make recommendations to the Accounting Director for process improvements.
  • Assists in establishing, preparing, and submitting monthly financial reports to Departmental Managers, Vice Presidents, CFO, and CEO.
  • Assists with the annual budgeting process preparing the templates, reviewing rates, costs, and revenue, and attending budget meetings.
  • Participates in the external annual audit process preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation as requested.
  • Maintains historical financial records of the corporation.
  • Participates in cross-training with applicable positions within the accounting department.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, and external personnel in a courteous and professional manner

  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
