About the Department

The Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) is seeking an Intel Unit Supervisor. Serving at the rank of Sergeant, you will supervise the work of CNT agents and civilian intel analysts by coordinating information and activities. If you meet the minimum qualifications, we encourage you to apply.

Position Duties

• Review reports and monitor case files.
• Assign cases.
• Provide direction and assistance as needed.
• Answer any inquiries from the public.
• Conduct drug-related criminal investigations by interviewing victims and witnesses, interrogating suspects, and following up on leads.
• Initiate and coordinate interviews of witnesses and victims.
• Obtain and serve criminal warrants when appropriate.
• Arrest and book suspected criminals.
• Assist the CNT Assistant District Attorneys in preparing cases.
• Testify in judicial proceedings when necessary.
• Document investigation through completion of appropriate paperwork.
• Exchange information with other law enforcement personnel and outside agencies.
• Conduct studies of past criminal activities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, and
• At least two (2) years of law enforcement experience.
• Must be Georgia POST certified as a Peace Officer in good standing or be able to complete the Equivalency of Training (EOT) program for officers certified in other states.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete and pass a drug screen, background investigation, and physical and psychological exams with a medical professional.
