Under the direction of the Vice President, the Senior Population Health Analyst provides strategic, operational and managerial leadership to the department. They direct installation, configuration, optimization, and support for EPIC Population Health applications and the department’s information systems. The Senior Analyst’s responsibilities include technical expertise, user interaction, and process improvement. They ensure the effective utilization of the EHR system, supporting Quality and Performance Improvement program activities and implementing population health and value-based initiatives in Ambulatory Care.
- Provides leadership to the Ambulatory Care Quality & Population Health department, supporting the VP with department strategy, operations and management.
- Directs the strategy, design, and implementation of the department’s Epic applications and information systems to improve population health.
- Manages and supervises assigned employees / teams, including work assignments, attendance, discipline, performance evaluations and planning requirements.
- Evaluates user’s needs and requests for information systems relative to current systems and available technologies and applications.
- Participates in training offered on assigned applications, develops expert understanding of application functionality, including but not limited to: Healthy Planet, Compass Rose, EpicCare Link, EpicPayer Platform, Assignment & Attribution, Claims Data Link, Cheers Campaigns, FindHelp Integration and Exact Sciences Integration.
- Serve as liaison with user departments in resolving system/application issues
- Assist team efforts with implementing system enhancements and upgrades
- Evaluates problem situations in depth, arrives at independent conclusions and coordinates problem resolution for issues related to information systems use and implementation within the department, among departments and disciplines, with medical staff and outside vendors.
- Evaluates processes as requested and recommends re-engineering around utilization of computerized applications to maximize departmental and organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance and technical and functional support for information systems throughout the organization. Identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions. Independently comes to conclusions and implements corrective action.
- Participates in routine System software migration and upgrade processes.
- Directs the team’s work, and assists with Epic Nova notes reviews, build tasks, integrated testing, training, ticket resolution, upgrades, and downtime assistance in collaboration with the IT Department.
- Directs build and integrated testing for Epic Upgrades, and the implementation of new applications, and new Compass Rose programs.
- Remains abreast of new developments in healthcare, healthcare information systems and staff education by participating in continuing education programs/conferences and by review of the literature and periodicals.
- Provides on-site support and out-of-hours/on-call coverage when required to provide immediate assistance and troubleshooting.
- Attend scheduled department and division meetings and participate as appropriate.
