JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Information Technology Specialist DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt CATEGORY: Computer Professional
SUMMARY: Responsible to provide support of technology services for Tribal Operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform I.T. support services to Tribal Operations including hardware, software, and network.
- Assist the Director in meeting the technology goals for the Tribe.
- Assist with technology issues being addressed within the Tribal community, with outside contractors providing services to the Tribe and federal and state agencies.
- Perform routine maintenance and backup for servers and pc's.
- Develop and maintain email services; assign and remove email access to employees.
- Assist with creating a digital workflow for the Tribe.
- Assist with the coordination of the LAN/WAN structures of the Tribe.
- Assist with the maintenance of existing network hardware and configurations.
- Assign and remove e-mail and network access to employees.
- Assist with development of web services to the Tribe.
- Assist with collecting and gathering data for technology projects.
- Assist with identifying technological training needs throughout the Tribe.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and assist with overall department annual report.
- Maintain files related to I.T. functions to be presented upon request for audit purposes.
- Attend and participate in meetings and special project teams/committees as requested or assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- An Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field, or equivalent certification (A+, Net+, CCNA, etc.) and two (2) years of experience in computer network support and email management OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires knowledge/skills in Microsoft, Corel and Adobe products, accounting systems, Windows operating systems, security and backup solutions, and maintaining hardware (servers, computers and peripheral devices).
- Prefer Microsoft certification.
- Prefer A+ or Net+ Certification.
- Basic knowledge of teambuilding and teamwork principles.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervised by the Information Technology Director.
SALARY LEVEL:
- Annual Salary Range: $59,384-$77,750
