Job Class: 8671 Department: Purchasing Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Summary: Under basic supervision, assists with the delivery and receipt of supplies and materials; issues supplies and materials, assists in loading and unloading freight trucks, and organizes inventory.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Issues supplies and materials to City staff; cleans and maintains order in the warehouse, stacks and stores materials in designated areas, performs custodial and janitorial duties, and special assignments as directed.
- Receives materials and supplies for warehouse; reconciles packing list with purchase order, and inspects deliveries for damages; organizes inventory and maintains order in the warehouse.
- Supports the departmental operations with regular and timely attendance.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Odessa and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED required AND one year of customer service experience.
Knowledge of:
- Safety rules and regulations, and safety precautions in a warehouse environment.
Skill in:
- Closely following verbal and written instructions, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
License and certification requirements: A valid Texas State Driver's License is required; forklift operator license is required within 30 days of hire.
Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed in a warehouse work environment; moderate physical demands; frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and equipment.
