Job Overview
The primary focus of the Education Assistant is to support the New York Aquarium Educators in the delivery of inquiry-based science and nature programs for children and families during the aquarium’s Sharks After Dark overnight program. The Education Assistant will help lead tours of behind-the-scenes locations, assist with animal touch pool experience, and lead guests through the overnight experience.
Responsibilities
● Assist New York Aquarium educators in carrying out family programming. Assisting participants with overnight experience through tours, crafts, and animal encounter experiences.
● Prepare and organize program materials
● Attend overnight staff meetings
● Perform all related tasks and duties, as assigned
● Comply with all policies and procedures as presented by WCS and the WCS Education Department
Salary Range
Internal Qualification Requirements
● High School diploma or GED
● One year prior experience working with children
● Informal education experience
