Functional Title: Driver
Department: Senior Meals on Wheels (New Haven)
Position Status: Non-Exempt
Reporting to: Operations Manager

Job Purpose/Function: (the main contribution of the function to the total organization.)
As a Driver, regular and relief, your main focus is to correctly pack and deliver meals to clients in a safe and timely manner. To report significant changes in client's physical, emotional, or social conditions. Relief Drivers must be available on a “as needed” or “on call” basis.
Major Responsibilities:
- Always drive in a safe and courteous manner remembering that you are a representative of LifeBridge Community Services.
- Anticipate the proper Ice Packs for usage.
- Correctly pack, load and deliver meals in a safe and timely manner.
- Pick up meals at the preparation site.
- Pack meals according to the daily packing lists provided.
- Alert office staff of changes in clients' status
- Deliver meals to clients.
- Respect client confidentiality
- Keep accurate records of meal temperatures, gasoline purchases, vehicle inspections.
- Clean containers and vehicles daily
- Alert Team Leader to vehicle maintenance needs; take van to service garage for maintenance.
- Attending driver meetings.
- Distribute materials and notices to clients as assigned.
- Cooperate with representatives from the State and Area Agency.
- Adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
- Treat all LifeBridge staff with respect and honesty and develop cooperative teamwork.
- Perform other duties as appointed by the Team Leader, Operations Manager and Program Director.
Education and Experience Required:
- Current, valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Clean criminal history
- Good physical health
- Ability to collaborate cooperatively with staff and volunteers of the program.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving the whole-body including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting and ability to talk and hear. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch and kneel. The member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 + pounds. The members will have to travel locally by vehicle, as well as interact with clients. Required to be free from communicable diseases.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is typical of any residential setting/outpatient treatment facility and ranges from low to high. Frequent interaction with individuals in the program and community.
