Essential Duties:
- Assist in the design, development, and optimization of chemical mixing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable production methods.
- Develop new and evaluate existing formulations to support product innovation and improvement for refrigeration, cleaning, and HVACR use.
- Document process parameters, procedures, and results for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, regulatory standards, and internal safety requirements.
- Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Support production with troubleshooting and process improvements.
- Participate in pilot plant trials and scale-up activities.
- Perform product quality control testing and update QC procedures.
- Prepare and maintain government reports (FIFRA, HazMat Compliance, Tier II).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
- 3–5 years of experience in chemical process engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with chemical mixing, formulation, and process equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work hands-on in a lab and production environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with chemicals used in HVACR, cleaning agents, or refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD).
- Understanding of quality control and safety protocols in chemical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ISO or other quality systems.
- Knowledge of process safety and chemical hazard assessments.
- Experience from any of these industries is beneficial: liquid blending, food processing, paint manufacturing, personal care product manufacturing, aerosol production, oil/lubricants production, automotive chemicals production, or janitorial chemical production.
