Job Summary
Under the direction of Head Maintenance, the Assistant Maintenance performs environmental service tasks, maintenance of school buildings and grounds, minor or major mechanical repairs.
Essential Job Functions
Perform tasks such as painting sports fields, pre and post set up work for athletic and activity events, chalking and other jobs as assigned.
Snow removal.
Engaged in heating, air-conditioning, and plumbing services.
Oil, lubricate, and maintain all motors regularly and record.
Replace filters and bulbs as needed and record.
Service all pumps and bearing assemblies as needed and record.
“Blow down” and clean out boilers and cooling water systems regularly, list and record.
Troubleshoot and report any abnormal conditions or malfunctioning equipment daily to supervisor.
PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Physical Requirements
Frequent communication or exchange of information.
Occasionally operate a computer.
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects.
Frequently moving, standing, and walking on varying surface types.
Occasionally required to climb up and down ladders or stairs.
Frequently reaching above shoulder level.
Frequently exert up to 50 pounds of force to move or transport objects.
Occasionally exert 51-100 pounds of force to move or transport objects.
Seldom exert greater than 101 pounds of force to move or transport objects.
Frequently exposed to chemical odors, dirt, dust, loud noises, and extreme temperatures.
Qualifications
Special Boiler License required (can obtain while employed)
2nd Class C License Preferred (can obtain while employed)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, set priorities, self-start, and work independently.
Must be 18 years or older at time of employment, must possess a valid Minnesota Driver’s License, must be a U.S. Citizen or be able to provide documentation authorizing work eligibility in the U.S., must be of good moral character and temperate and industrious habits, must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, and must comply with organizational and departmental policies.
