JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: IT System Administrator

Reports to: IT Director

 

FLSA: Exempt X Non-Exempt 

Position Summary: Responsible for the overall performance and availability of the network. Install, configure and maintain organization’s network. Test and evaluate the network system to eliminate issues and make improvements, but also recommend upgrades/changes and assess the organization’s current and future network needs.  

Specific Duties (Includes, but not limited to, the following): 

  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within IT field 
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and cabling issues 
  • Manage hardware resources to insure maximum system up time and the highest level of availability 
  • Troubleshoot issues as reported by users and automated network monitoring systems 
  • Make recommendations for enhancements in the design of future systems and network upgrades
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe hazard free work environment;
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner while at the workplace;
  • Communicates daily activity to oncoming shifts
  • Other job related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Science is preferred
  • 2-3 yrs experience in the field is required 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.

Specific Knowledge and Abilities

  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures; 
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers ;
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends; 
  • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks, including lead and direct the work with a certain degree of creativity and latitude;
  • Must be able to install, configure and maintain the network; 
  • Must be able to forecast and adjust for peaking loads through the proactive use of network diagnostic and predictive tools; 
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networks, mid range and PC server operating systems and associated hardware, peripherals and appliances; 
  • CCNA and MCSE are preferred;
  • Must have ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and on call.
