We are seeking a Family Time Coordinator (Social Service Assistant) to join our Dallas Child Welfare Team.

Summary of Duties

As a Family Time Coordinator, you will:

  • Gather and document information from the caseworker, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools and other resources to plan family time visits. 

  • Meet with clients, family members and caregivers to review family time agreements and guidelines. 

  • Supervise family time visits between children, parents and family members in an office setting or in a community setting. 

  • You will observe family time and take case notes. 

  • Transport children, and parents to visits, medical appointments, social services or other agency related appointments as required. 

  • Collaborate with Caseworkers to assess level and location of family time supervision on an on-going basis. 

Minimum Qualifications

A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

  • One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR

  • An Associate degree in any field; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

  • This position will work: ** Either M-F 8 hours a day (8am-5pm, hour lunch) or Tuesday- Friday 10 hours a day (8am- 6:30pm, 30 min lunch/ or 7:30-6:30pm, hour lunch)

  • This work will be conducted in the office, homes of participants and community sites. 

  • There will be occasional travel for meetings, trainings, and other case related activities.  This may include occasional overnight travel. 

  • You will work a regular work week with fluctuating hours; occasional overtime may be needed, including evenings and weekends. 

  • There is frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting children with car seats. 

  • This role involves handling sensitive topics related to trauma, abuse, and crises, requiring a trauma-informed approach that is essential to ensure a safe environment. 

  • You may interact with individuals who have experienced trauma and may have difficulty managing their emotions. 

  • Be prepared for stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety for yourself and others.   

Background Checks and Requirements

  • The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
