- Fabricate, assemble, and install various sheet metal components, including standing seam roofs, wall panels, flashing, coping, gutters, downspouts, and fascia.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape large metal sheets to fit specific project requirements.
- Securely fasten and seal metal components to ensure weather resistance and durability.
- Work with a variety of manufacturers and metals, including aluminum, steel, copper, and stainless steel.
- Inspect and repair existing sheet metal roofing, flashing, or panels.
- Set up and work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including company tools.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, crew members, and other team members.
- Proven experience in sheet metal roofing or a related field is often preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools specific to sheet metal work (e.g., shears, brakes, drills, seamers).
- Strong understanding of local building codes and safety regulations.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions and at heights.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
