JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Instruction for CESiL is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the College of Nursing and Public Health simulation and practice labs. The Instructor works closely with students and faculty.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $76,875. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

REPORTS TO: Director, CESiL

RESPONSIBILTIES & DUTIES:

  1. Implements learning resource activities towards the achievement of program goals and objectives.
  2. Collaborates with faculty on development and implementation of simulation activities.
  3. Maintains records of student participation in CESiL.
  4. Evaluates students’ performance when referred for prescriptive tutorials and communicates results to referring faculty.
  5. Prepares the CESiL for instructional purposes and for testing.
  6. Provides supervision and remediation to students during practice sessions in the CESiL.
  7. Maintains a working knowledge of computer applications.
  8. Assists students with software assignments.
  9. Maintains the environment of the CESiL.
  10. Communicates with faculty concerning student problems and concerns.
  11. Coordinates, assists, and administers various computer-based exams.
  12. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Director/Assistant Director of CESiL.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  1. Computer literacy.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  3. Accurate record keeping.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing with recent clinical experience is required.
  2. Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred
  3. Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
  4. Experience with simulation learning is preferred.
  5. Certification in healthcare simulation is preferred.
