Position Description: The Finance Technician provides finance/accounting support to the finance department.
Specific Responsibilities:
Prepares deposits for District-wide cash receipts. Enters cash receipt transactions in the District’s financial system.
Enters health and dental insurance tracking data in the District’s financial system.
Tabulates and creates monthly spreadsheet of postage usage. Prepares monthly journal entry for entry into the District’s financial system.
Creates spreadsheet of monthly copier charges [using report from copier machine], prepares journal entry for entry into the District’s financial system.
Monitors Accounts Payable email inbox and communicates with external vendors when necessary.
Enters Accounts Payable invoices in the District’s financial system as needed.
Prepares journal entries as needed and enters into Skyward finance system.
Manages incoming and outgoing mail for District Service Center.
Maintains student directory request and distribution process.
Creates monthly cash and in-kind donations summary report for School Board.
Creates vendors, processes Form W-9s, and maintains vendor profiles in the District’s financial system
Other duties as assigned and apparent.
Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements: High School graduate and three (3) years finance office experience. Computer knowledge and related software. Knowledge of basic accounting—understands debits and credits and can perform basic check book reconciliation process.
