POSITION PURPOSEThe Paid Leave Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing all mandated paid leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while supporting a positive employee experience. This role requires a deep understanding of leave laws such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and statutory Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs, with a strong emphasis on Minnesota Paid Leave (MPL). This role will manage complex leave cases and collaborate across departments, and serve as a key resource for interpreting and applying leave policies. This position may also provide support with other company-sponsored leave and disability programs, such as short-term disability and parental leave.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the designated administrator and primary point of contact with Minnesota Paid Leave (MN PL), acting as the liaison between the organization and the state.Lead the administration and oversight of all mandated state and local paid leave programs, including reviewing and implementing policies, ensuring accurate documentation, coordinating, and managing communications.Act as the internal resource for employees navigating the paid leave process, providing clear, empathetic, and timely guidance.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations, maintaining complete and accurate records to support audit readiness and legal requirements.Deliver education and training to managers and employees on paid leave policies and procedures to promote understanding and proper application.Maintain and analyze employee leave data, generate reports to support compliance trends analysis, and strategic planning.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, SKILL, AND/OR COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS5 years of experience administering employee leaves in a professional environmentStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Military Leave in compliance with USERRA and related regulations, and experience managing multi-state Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs, including Minnesota Paid Leave Law.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset.Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information and sensitive employee situations with professionalism and discretion.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to navigate complex cases and provide thoughtful, compliant solutions.Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple leave cases and details.Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, or similar systems.Experience working with and managing third-party administrators (TPAs) for leave and disability programs.COMPENSATIONPay is based on several factors, including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
