Data Engineer at None

The Data Engineer plays a key role in technology to advance our capabilities in Business Intelligence, Machine Learning and Forecasting.  The role develops and maintains our data pipelines, data models, and rules engine for data cleansing.  A person who is successful in this role will have experience working with cloud-based ETL systems, T-SQL bases data transformation and will be familiar with the software development best practices.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Contribute to ongoing development for data movement, quality and cleansing.
• Create automated processes to validate and translate data for storage in the enterprise data warehouse
• Contribute to design of master data models
• Participate in meetings with technical peers regarding solution design
• Collaborate with executives and other departments to identify technical requirements for ETL solutions
• Maintain best practices for software development on our analytics codebase

Competencies

• Strong SQL programming skills, particularly Microsoft SQL Server
• Ability to estimate and prioritize workload accurately
• Strong experience in BI tools like SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Infrastructure
• Familiarity with designing data models
• Work experience with Azure Synapse is preferred

Education/Experience

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3-5 years’ experience in design, development and support of data pipelines
• 3-5 years’ experience with T-SQL
• 1-3 years’ experience in designing data models

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
