POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the safety and well-being of students, staff and school facilities and assets at SDSA. Monitors and supports students during mornings and afternoons to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment conducive to student interaction. Duties include supervising and monitoring students inside and around the campus, enforcing appropriate student behavior, communicating with students regarding issues and/or behavior, escorting students and/or unauthorized visitors, assisting with fire drills and other threats and assisting in removal from classrooms of disruptive students. May assist with translation and/or communication using second language skills when possible. Reports to the Security Director and works closely with other site staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Bilingual skills – Spanish & English desired
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Good problem-solving ability; good judgement
- Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages
- 1-year experience working with children in a school setting desired
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon building assignments and other factors.
- Support the Mission and Vision of Salida del Sol Academy
- Supervise students, including enforcing school rules, school boundaries, and school behavior expectations
- Supervise and monitor the interior and exterior of the campus before, during and after school to ensure the safety and welfare of students and staff
- Intercede on fight and other disturbances and ensure order is restored.
- Maintain familiarity with and enforce student behavior policies and other school rules and regulations.
- Escort students to and from the office for disciplinary reasons and escort unauthorized personnel from the campus as needed.
- Assist Security Director with fire drills and evacuation drills, and assist in carrying out Emergency Response Plans in the event of an actual crisis.
- Assist with COVID protocols and procedures including temperature taking, escorting students with symptoms to the nurses office and other related duties.
- Assist law enforcement personnel when requested.
- Complete incident reports as needed
- Helps keep the campus clean
- Reports any and all safety issues, student misbehavior or other job-related duties to the Security Director
Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Monday: 7:30 am- 2:30 pm
Tuesday-Friday: 7:30 am- 1:30 pm
COMPENSATION
- Hourly Range $16.89-$20.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Accrued Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked; Total 48 hours.
