Child Nutrition Staff at Northeastern York School District

Job Summary: 

Under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager, ensure students and teachers are served meals in a timely, efficient manner and provide them with a safe, clean environment.

Specific Job Functions:

• Develop and maintain good techniques in food preparation and the serving of food.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

• Operate food service equipment such as but not limited to slicers, ovens, steamers, can openers, dishwashers.

• Responsible for serving the components of a reimbursable meal and recognizing those components in order for the school district to receive monetary reimbursements as prescribed by state and federal agencies.

• Responsible for operating the cash register, verifying the customer’s account, and handling the accurate ring up of a reimbursable meal or a la carte sales.

• Process cash payments, make changes and correct monetary errors to the customer as necessary.

• Maintain at least minimum annual training hours according to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma preferred.

• Prior experience in food service is preferred.

• Other education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration.
