The IT Business Insurance division of Cincinnati Insurance is seeking an experienced Application System Administrator to support and maintain internally developed applications and system environments. This role ensures operational readiness, system performance, and seamless integration across IT services. The administrator will collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and other IT groups to manage deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system environments.
Starting pay: The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $110,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
To ensure active engagement, all associates are expected to appear on camera during virtual meetings with other associates, customers and stakeholders. This practice is important for maintaining connection, as non-verbal cues are essential for effective communication and building relationships.
Work location and flexibility are subject to change based on evolving business needs, but generally, selected candidates who reside:
- within 50 miles of Headquarters may be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, combining remote and onsite work when business needs necessitate.
- more than 50 miles from Headquarters must be flexible and available to travel to Fairfield, OH, on an occasional basis for special events, training sessions, or key meetings.
- install, configure, and maintain internally developed application components
- perform operational readiness testing and provide debugging support
- manage service and generic accounts, permissions, and access controls
- monitor performance, storage, and logs across supported environments
- execute and maintain database scripts, backups, and disaster recovery plans
- validate infrastructure changes (firewall, load balancer, server configurations)
- automate system administration tasks and log file management
- troubleshoot issues and coordinate with internal teams
- lead technical efforts for upgrades and mentor junior associates
- ensure compliance with IT standards and audit requirements
- experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems
- knowledge of system architecture, database schemas, and development tools
- familiarity with .NET, IIS, SQL Server, GitHub, Kubernetes
- moderate understanding of web service technologies
- experience with MQ and MIM
- familiarity with XML technologies
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work independently and collaboratively
- commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- willingness to mentor and coach others
- ability to follow IT processes and compliance requirements
