About the Department

Enforcement Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing the work within the Agent Division of the Ak-Chin Tribal Gaming Agency, which is a twenty-four hour, seven-days-per-week operation that handles resource assignments and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the gaming Agent regulatory staff. This classification has been designated as a non-classified, non-merit system; at-will position.This position is an exempt position.

Position Duties

Experience equivalent to three years full time gaming regulations or closely related work, at least two years of which involved supervisory responsibilities to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.  Must possess a valid gaming license/certification from the State of Arizona and/or the Ak-Chin Indian Community Gaming Commission.  Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and able to meet the Community’s insurance carrier requirements (no DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Coordinates/supervises overall activities of Gaming Agent regulatory staff to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal regulations and approved Casino and Tribal internal controls.
  • Oversees/coordinates training of the Gaming Agent regulatory staff regarding employees regarding Gaming Rules, Regulations, and Compact and Gaming Code provisions.
  • Schedules, assigns, and reviews the work of gaming enforcement staff, including the review and approval of Incident Reports, approving leave requests, completion of probationary and annual performance evaluations for all direct reports.  Ensures that division Supervisors complete probationary and annual performance evaluations of their direct reports. 
  • At the request of the TGA Executive Director, Enforcement Supervisor may serve as a liaison with Federal, State, and other tribal regulatory agencies.
  • At the request of the TGA Executive Director, the Enforcement Supervisor and/or division staff may assist in the investigation of patron disputes, alleged  violations of internal controls, and alleged violations of the Compact and Gaming Code provisions as necessary.
  • Preparation of a monthly report to the Executive Director on all division activities.  Preparation of an annual report to the Executive Director on all division activities.  Oral and written reports to the Tribal Gaming Commission on division activities as requested.
  • Ensures that division records are maintained and any release of such requires the explicit approval of the TGA Executive Director.
  • Reviews and updates division’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Tribal Gaming Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Ak-Chin Indian Community/State of Arizona Gaming Compact and any subsequent Compact Amendments.
  • Knowledge of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino policies, procedures, and Minimum Internal Control Standards and Tribal Internal Control Standards.
  • Knowledge of general documentation/record keeping principles and practices
  • Knowledge of computer software and office equipment and use of internal TGA Surveillance equipment.
  • Knowledge of general security practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
  • Knowledge of general supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Skill in supervising the day-to-day regulatory Agent activities as it pertains to the enforcement division.
  • Knowledge of customer service/public relations techniques and principles.
  • Skill in reviewing, preparing and responding to a wide variety of reports.
  • Skill in written and oral communication necessary for documentation, reporting incidents, explanation of practices, policies and procedures to upper management, customers, employees and regulatory agencies.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Federal, State and Tribal Gaming Regulatory agencies, upper management, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Must possess Supervisory skills.
  • Must be professional, maintain tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality when representing the TGA in all matters.
