DBT Coach – Copa Voyager Center (Residential Youth Facility)

About the Role
At Copa Health, we are dedicated to inspiring health, hope, and happiness by delivering compassionate and transformative care. We are seeking a DBT Coach to join our Voyager Center, a residential treatment facility serving youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and medical diagnoses.
As a DBT Coach, you will play a key role in providing trauma-informed, therapeutic support to youth through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills reinforcement, crisis de-escalation, and individualized treatment support. You’ll collaborate with clinical staff, engage families, and ensure a safe recovery-oriented environment that promotes growth and positive outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Provide direct care, supervision, and DBT-informed coaching to youth in a 24/7 residential setting
Model and reinforce DBT skills including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness
Respond to crisis situations using DBT techniques to de-escalate and maintain safety
Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical recommendations.
Facilitate structured groups on DBT skills, social skills, and independent living skills.
Assist youth with daily living needs, personal care, appointments, and community integration.
Document clinical information accurately and timely in electronic health records.
Participate actively in treatment team meetings, staff training, and program development.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 21 years or older .
High school diploma/GED and 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health, youth treatment, or DBT-informed programs; OR an associate degree and 1–2 years of related experience.
Experience working with youth with trauma or developmental disabilities preferred.
Valid Arizona Driver’s License and ability to meet Copa Health driving standards.
Ability to obtain Arizona Food Handler’s Card (within 14 days of hire).
Must meet TB test and fingerprint clearance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of DBT principles (training provided).
Ability to remain calm and use appropriate de-escalation techniques in crisis situations.
Compassion, integrity, and professionalism in working with youth and families.
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, MS Office, and adaptability to new technologies
