Red Oak Behavioral Health is looking for an energetic and compassionate Prevention Specialist to deliver engaging, evidence-based prevention and social-emotional learning (SEL) programs to youth from pre-K through high school in school and community settings.
You’ll play a key role in teaching life skills, promoting positive behavior, and strengthening connections between schools, families, and communities.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate engaging prevention education and SEL programming in schools and after-school settings.
- Provide early childhood consultation and training for teaching staff and parents in positive behavior management.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, childcare centers, and community organizations.
- Plan and implement prevention strategies, including education, alternative activities, information dissemination, and community engagement.
- Collect and maintain program data; ensure accurate documentation in agency systems.
- Support outreach efforts to promote prevention awareness in the community.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance prevention expertise.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years in social services, education, youth programs, or community outreach preferred.
- Licensure/Credential:
- Ohio Prevention credential (OCPSA, OCPS, or OCPC) preferred.
- Candidates without credentialing must obtain Registered Applicant status within 90 days and full credential within one year (agency support provided).
- Ohio Prevention credential (OCPSA, OCPS, or OCPC) preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and facilitation abilities; comfortable working with diverse groups of youth and families.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with electronic documentation (EHR systems preferred).

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, primarily school hours (some flexibility for community events).
- Work occurs in schools, childcare centers, and community sites throughout Summit County and nearby areas.
- Requires reliable transportation between locations.
