Description

Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide. 


We are currently seeking a Software/Application Developer II to join our corporate team located either in Sterling, Virginia or Tallahassee, Florida.

Qualified candidates must reside within a 25-mile commute to Sterling or Tallahassee.


We are seeking a Software Developer with a solid foundation in Quality Assurance and hands-on experience using programming languages like Java, Frameworks like .NET, Test automation and Integration. In this role, you will be part of the team building applications and ensure their quality through automated and manual testing techniques.  You will work across a hybrid tech stack and play a key role in modernizing our platform with cloud deployment while optimizing both code and delivery pipelines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Full stack developer with QA focus using Java and .NET MVC frameworks.
  • Automate infrastructure and application deployment in cloud environment (Azure).
  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, automated tests and documentation.
  • Participate in architecture and design sessions, particularly around interoperability and system integrations.
  • Ensure performance, security and data integrity in back-end processes.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, SVN, etc.
  • Contribute to cross-platform integrations between .NET and Java services.
  • Maintain and modernize legacy systems while contributing to new applications in microservices environment
  • Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
  • Maintain and refactor existing components built with Java and .Net environment.
  • Monitor system health, application performance, and logs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly, maintaining high system availability.
  • Conduct system analysis and troubleshooting for existing applications.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and change-management activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, .NET, Core / ASP.NET MVC / Web API
  • Solid understanding of DevOps tools and cloud infrastructure, especially Azure cloud
  • Experience with SVN, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Pentaho Business Analytics highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI data handling, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
