BHC is seeking a strategic, connected, and media-savvy Public Relations & Communications Manager to lead storytelling and communications across our collection. This role will be central in shaping how our brand is perceived locally, nationally, and globally.
You’ll serve as the primary liaison with our New York–based PR agency, ensuring alignment with BHC’s brand vision while amplifying our presence through media, partnerships, and community engagement. With a strong foundation in agency best practices and a robust network of Charleston-based media and influencer contacts, you’ll blend national reach with authentic local storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
PR & Media Relations
Act as the day-to-day liaison with our NYC PR agency, ensuring consistent communication, strategy alignment, and seamless execution of campaigns.
Build and nurture strong local media relationships to secure consistent coverage in Charleston-based publications, broadcast outlets, and digital platforms.
Partner with the agency to manage national media outreach, press trips, and pitching efforts.
Oversee press release development, fact sheets, media kits, executive bios, and talking points to ensure brand consistency.
Track, analyze, and report on media coverage and ROI using Barcelona Principles.
Serve as copywriter, crafting compelling marketing copy across digital and traditional channels
Communications Strategy & Brand Storytelling
Develop and execute communications strategies that reinforce BHC’s positioning as a leader in luxury hospitality.
Ensure all messaging—press, social, digital, internal—is aligned with brand voice and values.
Identify and activate partnerships and collaborations that strengthen brand presence.
Work with internal stakeholders (marketing, food & beverage, operations) to uncover and share compelling stories.
Submit BHC and its entities for applicable awards.
Receive special event participation inquiries and requests from local third-party organizations; evaluate and make recommendations for participation in community events.
Events & Influencer Engagement
Coordinate media events, press previews, and brand activations in Charleston.
Collaborate with influencers, tastemakers, and local leaders to amplify BHC experiences.
Partner with agency on larger-scale activations in NYC and other key markets.
Requirements
Must have at least 5 years of PR or communications experience, ideally with prior agency experience.
Established network of Charleston-based media and influencer contacts.
Strong understanding of both local and national media landscapes.
Exceptional writing, pitching, and storytelling skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
