 Job Description:

FOREFRONT is seeking a motivated individual to join our field team as a Survey Technician / Rodman. This entry-level position is ideal for someone beginning their career in surveying and eager to learn hands-on techniques in the field. You will assist survey crews in collecting data and operating equipment while gaining valuable experience in land surveying.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist survey crews with data collection using surveying equipment
  • Help set up and operate surveying instruments (total stations, GPS receivers, levels)
  • Perform measurements and record field data accurately
  • Maintain field notes and sketches
  • Assist with boundary location, topographical surveys, and construction staking
  • Help transport and set up equipment at job sites

Work Environment:

Outdoor field settings in various weather conditions; occasional office work for data entry and reporting.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours may vary depending on project needs and weather conditions.


Travel:

Local travel to job sites is required. Must be able to reliably commute or have access to transportation.


 Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid drivers license
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn new software and surveying techniques quickly
  • Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework in surveying, civil engineering, or related field
  • Prior field surveying or construction experience
  • Willingness to obtain surveying certifications

 Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods, carry and set up equipment, and traverse uneven terrain. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to fieldwork.
