Wood is seeking a Contract Advisor with a strong legal background to lead the commercial and contractual management of third-party agreements across complex, large-scale engineering projects worldwide. This position will be based in Madrid (Spain).

The Role

The person will be responsible for preparing contract documents and arranging for execution during pre - awards including but not limited to involving in conducting evaluation / clarification meetings with contractors.

Responsibilities

 

  • Legal and commercial advice on business development and alignment with internal corporate policies.
  • Preparation, analysis and negotiation of business contracts (engineering services contracts, supply contracts), JVs, MOUs, collaboration agreements and any other contractual documents.
  • Analysis and preparation of the most advantageous contractual scenario for the company.
  • Coordination of internal services between group affiliates (workshare)
  • Drafting and negotiation of collateral agreements and legal documents (bonds, parent company guarantees and confidentiality agreements, among others).
  • Support Due Diligence and Compliance group including sanctions, data privacy and ethics programs.

 Expected:

  • Mandatory legal background: degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
  • Considerable commercial / contract management experience, typically minimum of 7 years.
  • International negotiations skills, claims & dispute resolution.
  • Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Desirable:

  • Strong, negotiator and proactive.
  • Customer focused – develops sincere and open relationships with customers, current and potential; listens to customer needs and constantly striving to exceed expectations and add value
