Kepak McIntosh Donald are looking for a Effluent Plant Operative to join our team.
Working Hours: 40h/week, Monday to Friday, rotating shifts (1 week on 6am-3pm and 1 week of 1pm-10pm)
Role Purpose Responsible for the daily running of the wastewater treatment plant ensuring water discharge remains within the business consent levels.
Requirements
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the effluent treatment facility.
- Maintain a working knowledge of operation, methods, and procedures of wastewater treatment plant.
- Maintain basic knowledge of wastewater discharge norms and consent limits.
- Maintain basic knowledge of physical, chemical, and engineering aspects of treatment processes for wastewater.
- Inspect and perform daily checks on effluent plant performance to ensure effective operations and maintain records, including start-up, shut down and daily monitoring of daily blood skid.
- Complete planned maintenance activities in the water plant during weekend shut down periods.
- Complete daily site meter readings and uploading to shared file.
- Arrange delivery of effluent treatment chemicals and loading of chemicals into treatment plant chemical dosing systems.
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with consent limits.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules & record activities within the factory CMMS system.
- Perform routines such as draining and cleaning of effluent treatment plant & routine housekeeping.
- Observe for any improvement opportunities within the plant operation.
- Liaise with effluent treatment chemical suppliers and maintain chemical stock on site.
- Liaise with site engineering and hygiene teams as required during breakdowns, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Liaise with external effluent plant maintenance and cleaning contractors.
- Maintain daily open communications with site management teams.
- Ensure safe storage of effluent chemicals in line with environmental policy.
- Perform all work in conformance to Health, Safety & Environment regulations.
- Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
