We are looking for a Social Media and Community Engagement Officer
As a Social Media and Community Engagement Officer, you will plan, create, and implement engaging digital content for our social media channels. You will oversee day-to-day social media activities, respond to audience inquiries, and foster community engagement. You will track social media performance, provide insights, and adapt strategies to boost engagement. You will also collaborate across departments to identify content opportunities and enhance staff engagement.

Minimum of three to five (3 to 5) years’ experience in:
- Managing social media and communities for large organizations
- Writing, editing, and producing engaging social media content
- Using social media scheduling and monitoring tools
- Analyzing social media metrics to guide strategies and campaigns
- Coordinating multiple projects at once and prioritizing effectively
- Working in diverse teams and environments
- Planning and implementing social media initiatives
Knowledge of:
- Best Practices in Content Creation: Best practices and trends in social media content creation, including tailoring content to different audiences and creating accessible content.
- Audience Engagement: Best practices in engaging and building audiences through social media channels such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Social Media Management: Social media management tools, livestreaming, and photo and video editing tools.
- Project Management: Project management processes and practices for digital projects and initiatives.
- Canadian military history is an asset.
Education: Post-secondary education in field(s) relevant to the duties of the position, including Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in a creative services environment.
Specific Working Conditions: May require occasional evening or weekend work for events and communications.
Compensation: $ 79,134 to $ 97,933
Status: Temporary Full-Time Position until April 23, 2027 (# 10417-01)

Location: 1, Vimy Place, Ottawa (Ontario)
