The Puller Operator is responsible for operating manual and mechanical pulling equipment to remove tubes from mandrels. This role involves identifying priority jobs, inspecting racks and parts, ensuring proper documentation, and observing all safety procedures, especially related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and hazard mitigation. 

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Inspect tooling and racks for part integrity and consistency.
  • Position racks using a pallet jack and ensure appropriate spacing for pulling operations.
  • Determine correct pull method (manual or mechanical) based on tube specifications.
  • Operate pullers as instructed.
  • Ensure correct plate installation for mechanical pulling.
  • Manually pull tubes according to work instructions.
  • Use grinders as needed to relieve bonded mandrels.
  • Place tubes in looped carts by part number and mandrels by size in tooling carts.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for each job and attach to appropriate materials.
  • Perform visual inspections and report non-conforming materials to team lead, supervisor, or manager.
  • Clean racks post-operation, including breaking and removing cured resin, swabbing with alcohol, and documenting resin weight.
  • Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).

Knowledge & Experience

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.

Skills & Abilities

  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.

Hours / Shifts: This is a 3rd shift position.  

1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm EST 

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 3:00pm – 11:00pm EST 

3rd Shift: Sunday through Friday 11:00pm – 7:00am EST 

Hours and shifts may vary depending on needs of the department.
