Senior Event Analysis Specialist:
The Senior Event Analysis Specialist leads the development and implementation of Event Analysis (EA) programs across the organization, partnering directly with senior leadership to determine and recommend corrective actions for operational events. This role owns the design and delivery of Event Analysis training in various formats, supports the creation and maintenance of EA artifacts, and contributes to Human Performance program by applying root cause analysis principles to other related programs. Additionally, the position collaborates with the Technical Training group to support supervisor development and ensure alignment with broader safety and performance goals.

The Principal Event Analysis Specialist leads the development and implementation of Event Analysis (EA) programs across the organization, partnering directly with senior leadership to determine and recommend corrective actions for operational events. This role owns the design and delivery of Event Analysis training in various formats, supports the creation and maintenance of EA artifacts, and contributes to Human Performance program by applying root cause analysis principles to other related programs. Additionally, the position collaborates with the Technical Training group to support supervisor development and ensure alignment with broader safety and performance goals.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
Senior Event Analysis Specialist:
- Lead Enterprise Event Analysis
Facilitate comprehensive analyses of significant operational and safety events across the enterprise. Track and trend incidents by apparent causes to identify emerging patterns, and conduct common cause analyses when appropriate. - Design and Deliver Training
Lead the development, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of Event Analysis training programs. Offer modular formats tailored to various audiences, including supervisor-focused sessions, brief staff meeting presentations, full-day workshops, and progressive learning tracks. - Own Training Content and Strategy
Serve as the primary owner of Event Analysis training materials and delivery strategy. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and scheduling priorities. - Develop and Maintain Documentation
Create and manage event analysis artifacts such as templates, manuals, and policy documents. Ensure consistency, accessibility, and usability across business units. - Support Human Performance Initiatives
Apply event analysis principles to enhance human performance training and program development. - Collaborate on Technical Training
Partner with the Technical Training group to support the principal trainer role, especially in supervisor training delivery. Coordinate with additional training resources as needed. - Emergency and Storm Response Role
Participate in emergency and storm response assignments, activated during power restoration efforts or other critical service disruptions. This role may require after-hours work and schedule flexibility. Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all applicable policies and standards.

Qualifications:

- Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (cognitive science, industrial psychology, human factors, biomedical engineering, etc.)
- Required Experience:
- 5+ years of experience related to the application of root cause analysis concepts, process mapping, or human performance.
- Strong capability to manipulate, analyze, categorize, and interpret data for trends and learning opportunities.
- Ability to communicate results through metrics, and performance indicators; and to communicate lessons learned, and findings both written and verbally.
- Possess a basic understanding of the work of an electric or gas utility.
- Experience managing a standing program or group of projects.
- Interact effectively at all organizational levels including both senior management and field employees through relationship building and customer service.
- Ability to rapidly learn new business and technical concepts through discussion, research, and questioning.
- Ability to work independently and be effective in team settings.
- Ability to monitor and control many analyses to timely completion.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of the U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program (Enlisted or Officer), including Nuclear Field (NF) Program or Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) Program.
