Senior Quality Engineer – Python Playwright Automation at Appzen

AppZen is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead test automation efforts using Python and Playwright, while also performing targeted manual testing for complex scenarios. You will design, build, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks, integrate them with CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high-quality releases. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Development, DevOps, Product Management, and Release Management to ensure seamless delivery.

Role Overview:

Develop and maintain robust automation frameworks using Python + Playwright for web and API testing.

Automate regression, functional, and API tests, ensuring high coverage and maintainability.

Perform manual testing for exploratory, complex, or newly developed features.

Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)and maintain reporting dashboards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Development, Product, Release) to ensure smooth QA integration and timely releases.

Drive automation processes including test planning, code reviews, parallel execution, and best practices.

Mentor junior QA engineers and enforce automation and manual testing best practices.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for test failures and optimize test strategy.

Test AI/ML-driven workflows and AI agent functionality, validating output accuracy and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

7+ years in QA/Automation, with 3+ years of hands-on Python + Playwright experience.

Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

Proficiency in manual testing, exploratory testing, and test case design.

Solid skills in API automation, SQL, PyTest, and test management tools (TestRail,Testmo, Zephyr).Exposure to AI agent or ML workflow testing is a plus.

Strong experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments.

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
