About the Department

Through the Division of Extended Studies, the University offers a wide range of credit and non-credit courses, seminars, and workshops designed to meet learners where they are—both academically and geographically. Programs are available on campus, online, and at off-campus locations to better serve individuals living outside of Pueblo and across Colorado.

Position Duties

Extended Studies is seeking a new adjunct faculty member to teach in-person courses at Fountain Fort Carson High School. The responsibilities of the part-time adjunct instructor position include teaching quality courses in Biology. We are looking for qualified individuals who can teach teach AP Biology lecture course (3 credits) with an associated lab course (1 credit). Information about Extended Studies is available online. This position will run January 7ththrough May 22nd, Monday through Friday from 8-8:53 a.m. and 11:33a.m. to 12:26 p.m. Refer to the Academic Calendar athttps://www.ffc8.org/about-us/academic-calendar-2025-2026 for a full schedule.


The selected candidate for this in-person, on-campus position will teach baccalaureate level courses at Fountain Fort Carson High School in accordance with program needs, and will perform the following duties: 

**All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service.

 

Specific duties include:

  • preparing and presenting course materials according to department curricular needs;
  • assessing student performance;
  • preparing, administering, and grading assignments;
  • mentoring students as needed;
  • assigning final grades.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Biology or related field
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods, such as learning management systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Strong communication skills


Compensation
$3100 - $3540/4 credit course.
