SANITATION WORKER

POSITION SUMMARY: Sanitation Workers are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production areas on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Disassemble production equipment to allow for thorough cleaning.
- Rinse down area with high-pressure hoses.
- Foam equipment and work area and then scrub them as needed.
- Rinse equipment and work area to ensure all chemicals and soils are removed.
- Inspect cleaned equipment and work area to ensure cleanliness.
- Reassemble equipment in work area.
- Report all mechanical problems to Supervisor, Lead, or Maintenance.
- Complete mandatory safety, food safety/GMP, and chemical training as outlined for the job assignment.
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of sanitation procedures and sanitation chemicals preferred.
- Food or production/manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work from ladder and personal/scissor lift.
- Ability to work in a hot, high humidity environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use hands for 8-11 hours per day
- Ability to work with industrial strength chemicals
- Excellent attendance required.
- Ability to work overtime as assigned.
- Ability to multitask and work quickly with repetitive motion work.
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense to deal with problems in standardized situations
- Must be a team player.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Good hand and eye coordination required.
- Must maintain good personal hygiene
