The Department of Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University is seeking an outstanding candidate to manage the Charles Hutson Greenhouse.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversight of the Charles Hutson Greenhouse and the Charles Nemanick Alternative Ag Garden
- Establishment and management of budgets
- Development and administration of greenhouse policies and procedures, including safety
- Development and implementation of strategic plan for greenhouse
- Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate student employees
- Complete routine greenhouse maintenance and repairs
- Support faculty and student research
Position Duties
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture or closely related field
- Two years of production horticulture experience
- Ability to train and supervise employees
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and database management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in greenhouse facility management and operations
- Experience with budget management
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to work some nights and weekends and during all types of weather
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
