Track and Field Head Coach at Montrose School

An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located in the welcoming community of Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School attracts a talented and growing student population from 50 towns and communities.

Montrose seeks a part-time Track and Field Head Coach from March 1 - May 30, 2026.  The Head Coach will run practices Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday starting at 3:30 PM that are approximately 2 hours in duration. Meet days will require a greater time commitment. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of the varsity and middle school team, including both organizing and supervising meets and practices, as well as uniform and equipment management 
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to assistant coaches
• Assess athletes skills, monitor athletes during competition and training, and provide guidance for athletes to improve 
• Instill the values of respect, team spirit, passion, teamwork, and dedication
• Improve skills, confidence, and commitment in all athletes 

Experience Requirements:

• Prior competing and/or coaching experience
• An understanding of the rules and regulations of the sport 
• Knowledge of effective skills and strategies that contribute to team growth and success

Education/Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• CPR Certification (may complete upon hiring)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive

It is expected that the Head Coach will work in coordination with the Assistant Coaches, and Athletic Director to create a unified Track and Field Program. All activities and behaviors should meet appropriate professional standards and adhere to the philosophy and mission of Montrose School.
