Job Summary
The Director of Scholars Portfolio provides leadership in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of key programs within MNPS's Scholars Portfolio, including summer learning, Saturday enrichment, and high-dosage tutoring. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Scholars Portfolio, the Director supports strategic alignment across the three programs and leads the day-to-day planning and implementation of key programmatic components. This includes cross-functional coordination, staffing, curriculum and enrichment implementation, school-based support, and performance monitoring. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality, aligned learning experiences that support academic growth and student engagement.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and program leaders to ensure alignment across Promising Scholars, Enriching Scholars (Saturday), and Accelerating Scholars (tutoring). Contribute to shared systems, communications, and planning routines that promote a coherent, year-round learning experience for students.
- Lead the planning, design, and day-to-day execution of Promising Scholars, MNPS’s district-run summer learning program. Oversee cross-functional coordination for key components such as staffing, enrollment, logistics, curriculum, and site-based support to ensure a smooth and impactful program experience.
- Develop and manage systems to track performance metrics for summer Scholars Portfolio programming, including attendance, student growth, and satisfaction. Partner with the Research & Evaluation team and other departments to analyze results and refine program components.
- Partner with Academic and vendor teams to select and implement high-quality curriculum and enrichment for summer learning. Design staffing models and professional learning experiences for summer site leaders and school-based teams.
- Serve as a liaison to school leaders, site-based teams, and internal departments to ensure timely communication and operational readiness. Provide tools and troubleshooting support to enable effective program delivery.
- Bachelor's Degree In education, public administration, policy, economics, or other related field Required
- Master's Degree In education, public administration, policy, economics, or other related field Preferred
- 3-5 years Experience in K–12 education or public-sector program management, with a focus on cross-functional leadership, program design, or school-based implementation Required
- 5-7 years Progressive experience in managing educational initiatives, strategic planning, or organizational improvement Preferred
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex timelines
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with K–12 public school operations and instructional practices
- Data analysis, program evaluation, and continuous improvement practices
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
