Job Description Summary:

The Visiting Research Scholar will train and conduct research under the direction of a Principal Investigator in the areas of thrombosis, hemostasis, and vascular biology. This one-year appointment provides research experience and professional development through hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and participation in ongoing research projects.

Job Duties:

  • Study effects of non-cellular components in ITP and TTP plasma to improve therapeutic effects.

  • Perform experiments, collect and analyze data, assist with preparation of reports and publications.

  • Analyze the influence of cell components in ITP and TTP to find a new strategy for the targeted treatment of disease.

  • Give presentations and talks as advised.

  • Record observations and ensure proper labeling, storage, and data backup.

Work Experience:

Four years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
