Serves as a contributor to a research team. Contributes to the execution of one or more moderately complex research projects to support the advancement of research.

Job Description:

Position Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000, DOE

Essential Duties:

  • Serves as a contributor to a research team. Contributes to the execution of one or more complex research projects to support the advancement of research.

  • Design and conduct applied research focused on early learning and early grade systems.

  • Manage, merge, and analyze survey data.

  • Collaborate with the Center’s Project Director, the Center’s internal team, and with external research partners to synthesize data from qualitative and quantitative sources.

  • Support in the development of practice-based briefs focused on early learning success. 

  • Communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to Center partners and interested parties, in partnership with the Center Project Director. 

  • Coordinate communication and collaboration within the Center and external partners, including the advisory committee, and research and network partners. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with early education and early grade education systems, with expertise in applied developmental research or related fields such as learning sciences, education policy, developmental science, or learning environments.

  • Experience translating research for various audiences, including education leaders, educators, or practitioners.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience conducting research, collecting data, or working in elementary school settings.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (25%).

  • Use office equipment such as a telephone, a computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse), a printer, and a copier.

  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolving conflicts.

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions.

Driving is not required for this position.
