Cubs Basketball Official/Referee - South Seattle
If you have a fundamental knowledge of and passion for the sport of basketball, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as Basketball Official/Referee at various community centers in South Seattle. This is a seasonal part-time role estimated to begin December 2025. There are multiple opportunities to extend.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Basketball Official/Referee at various Seattle community centers for the Cubs 2025-2026 basketball season will be officiating with accuracy and fairness, and facilitate a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
Schedule:
- Fridays, typically 4:30-8pm
- Estimated Start Date: Trainings will take place starting early December
- Season begins January 2, 2026 and ends March 20, 2026
Basketball Official/Referee Duties and Responsibilities:
- Referee basketball games featuring youth teams
- Facilitate a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants
Basketball Referee/Official Requirements:
- Have fundamental knowledge of basketball and its rules
- Experience working with kids
- Must pass a criminal background check
Pay:
- Starting Pay: $21.00/hour. Returning staff may receive a pay rate greater than the starting pay
