General Definition of Work
The technology services project manager, under general supervision, performs complex work managing and overseeing high-level technology projects for the Technology Services Division. Position will coordinate, implement, execute, control, and ensure the timely delivery and budget compliance of technology projects that cross multiple departments. Employee performs advanced work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures under the direction of assigned Executive Director.

NC 17 Salary Non-Certified Schedule/Full-time, 12 months

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to align with district objectives
- Create and lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Set project deadlines, monitor progress, and ensure completion within projected timeframes and budget limits
- Build and maintain relationships with district leadership, vendors, and stakeholders
- Provide regular updates on schedules, budgets, and change requests to leadership
- Establish key performance indicators and tracking reports to measure project success
- Foster a high level of customer service, innovation, and collaboration within the Technology Services Division
- Deliver project documentation and process standardization
- Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required
- Participate in professional development workshops and training
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies, specifically in technology
- Knowledge of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or SCRUM tools, training, and methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system technology
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system policies and technology
- Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards
- Skilled in project management and scheduling
- Skilled in managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
- Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
- Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations
- Ability to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality assurance procedures
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
- Ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor, and evaluate projects
- Ability to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediums
- Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to problem-solve utilizing sound judgment

- Ability to manage confidentiality regarding school system business and data
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or related field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
