SSI is seeking a Space Systems Engineer for a position in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities include:
·Provides technical oversight and leadership to the ground segment development, testing, integration, and operations effort.
·Assists with the design verifications and works with the vendor team to implement solutions to support the mission.
·Oversees the ground’s technical baseline, identifying key architecture and system-level trades, developing Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities, and coordinating them across the affected organizations.
·Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
·Develops enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements.
·Coordinates with cross-functional teams (i.e., Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry) and external stakeholders.
·Prepares briefings for senior decision makers.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems
Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
TS/SCI Clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in STEM or related discipline
