Position Summary

Iona University seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Manager to join its University Marketing & Communications team.


The Marketing Manager supports the university’s mission by developing, executing and tracking integrated marketing and advertising efforts that promote institutional brand awareness, drive enrollment and enhance campus engagement. This position manages day-to-day marketing operations, coordinates with external vendors and internal stakeholders and provides leadership to student interns.




Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing and in close partnership with the university’s Graphic Designer, this role supports the coordination and production of creative projects, ensuring that all materials align with institutional brand standards, messaging, and strategic priorities.




The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about both strategy and execution, able to balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.






Responsibilities


 

Marketing Campaigns, Advertising, and Creative Support

  • Coordinate creative assets and production with external vendors for digital, print, video and outdoor advertising.
  • Partner with the Graphic Designer to gather project details, copy and visual content for campaign deliverables.
  • Maintain a detailed log of creative rotations and placements by media vehicle.
  • Monitor and analyze web traffic and campaign performance; report results weekly and recommend optimizations.
  • Evaluate new advertising and sponsorship opportunities to expand reach and visibility.
  • Assist in the development, scheduling and execution of marketing campaigns to support:
    • Undergraduate recruitment (open houses, campus tours, applications, yield events)
    • Graduate program promotion
    • University-wide branding
    • Internal communications and campus engagement activities
  • Support the Graphic Designer by collecting content, coordinating feedback and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain consistency in tone, design, and messaging across all marketing materials.

 

Financial Administration

  • Submit and track invoices.
  • Record and reconcile marketing expenses.
  • Maintain current budget tracking to aid in monitoring spending and forecast available funds.

 

Merchandise and Branding

  • Research and recommend branded merchandise and promotional items to support recruitment, events and institutional initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Business Services department for pricing, artwork, production and delivery.
  • Provide artwork and logo assets to vendors in collaboration with the Graphic Designer.
  • Track orders, maintain inventory and ensure all items comply with brand standards and budget guidelines.

 

Team Leadership and Student Intern Supervision

  • Supervise student marketing interns; assign projects, provide feedback and track progress.
  • Oversee intern-led initiatives such as:
    • Competitive audits and benchmarking
    • Marketing analytics and website traffic analysis
    • Research to inform messaging, positioning and audience insights
  • Coordinate interns’ collaboration with the Graphic Designer and other team members to support creative and administrative projects.

 

Collaboration and Project Coordination

  • Serve as a liaison between University Marketing & Communications and other campus departments.
  • Assist in project intake, scheduling and status tracking to ensure smooth creative workflow.
  • Support the Graphic Designer in preparing files, organizing project assets and managing production timelines.
  • Participate in team meetings, strategic planning sessions and campaign reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing.
  • One to two years of professional experience in a marketing role (including internships or graduate assistantships).
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising, social media management, and analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with creative professionals, including graphic designers, photographers, and videographers.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with marketing software tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, CRM or CMS platforms).
  • Knowledge of marketing metrics, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite file formats and print production processes.
  • Experience working with external media, print and promotional vendors.
