Our Process Engineer will be responsible for timely project completion and leadership of continuous improvement achievement within the manufacturing plant. Accountable for the overall quality and recovery components of manufacturing, which is accomplished by auditing equipment performances in the proper methods of processing. Serving as a change agent and facilitator of the MDI processes. Our Rice Lake plant operates 24/5; this role will require a working schedule of Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, but will need to be flexible to meet the needs of our off shifts.
Accountabilities:
- Leads or supports project activities in the following areas:
- OEE improvement through Facility (Availability/Quality/Performance)
- Waste reduction throughout the facility
- Cost improvement
- Improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
- Process improvements, Including Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and efficiency throughout the Facility.
- New technology development
- Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation of new equipment
- Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to help guide optimization of product flow
- Develop, implement, and roll out VSM (Value stream mapping), capacity planning, and communicate capital needs to achieve process goals as determined with Management team.
- Analyzes and develops statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establishes quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
- Supervise process control team
- Provide the leadership and initiative to ensure the successful implementation of MDI. Proactively manage change in a way to help ensure continuous improvement success.
- Learn and develop the key skills required to implement all DMS across the plant. Help create ownership and shared results from process improvements.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate activities such as FIT events, training/education in various continuous improvement processes, etc. Be a teacher and facilitator of continuous improvement.
- Develop and utilize tools that will maximize the effectiveness of MDI and sustain them over time. This includes but is not limited to OSI PI, Defect Logs, Centerlines, CID Routes, and other related continuous improvement tools.
- Track and report KEY milestones and metrics related to plant MDI goals.
- Ensure processes and practices are in place to identify and share best practices with the plant and across the organization.
- Provide a professional work environment with internal and external customers. Must be able to effectively manage up, down, and across the organization and successfully build collaborative relations across the supply chain.
- Ability to work independently and within teams on abstract projects with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, or equivalent, plus two years of continuous improvement experience.
- Minimum: plus five (5) years of proven Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience
Skills:
- The ability to facilitate the collaborative examination of the possible outcomes, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
- The ability to quickly grasp technical and abstract concepts.
- To be able to consistently challenge continuous improvement teams to achieve superior results
- Training is an integral part of this position. The candidate must have a background or proven experience in training.
- Computer literacy is a must due to the nature of equipment operation and reporting.
- Knowledge of statistical concepts is required.
- Leadership qualities will be required because the candidate will be directing the plant management group on “best practices” in the operation of plant equipment.
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of processing equipment, processing methods, manufacturing philosophies, and basic manufacturing SOPs.
- Work with the teams to set and achieve stretch goals for the event; encourage calculated risks (based on facts/data, not ‘gut’)

Compensation Package: $97,500 - $130,000 USD annually + Bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
