About the role

Collaborative leader responsible for developing and executing the Sally product strategy through smart assortment planning and trend forecasting. Will drive innovation, speed to market and ultimately revenue growth, while managing assets. The role is crucial to the success of the company by ensuring the right products are available to meet customer demands. This position will work cross functionally with Marketing, CRM, E-commerce, Supply Chain, Planning and Allocation, Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides visionary leadership and strategic insight to develop systematic merchandising processes and implement technology enhancements, driving performance across all product categories. Facilitates collaboration to spearhead innovation, positively impacting business results.
  • Responsible for overall initiatives in all category groups that maximize sales and margin, while leveraging the inventory assets of the company.
  • Facilitate the communication channels within merchandising, marketing, CRM, e-commerce, supply chain, planning and allocation, finance, and store operations supporting merchandising strategic initiatives. 
  • Builds key relationships with cross-functional leaders and vendor community, leading collaboration and thought sharing, to drive results.
  • Instill forward thinking behavior, anticipate needs and events and their implication on the business; gather information and work towards a solution.   Strong financial acumen to coach the team to optimize databased insights to drive category performance. 
  • Develops team and builds strong bench for critical roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising or related field, MBA a plus
  • Extensive Merchandising experience at a leadership in category management, beauty experience preferred
  • Transformative experience and driver of process improvement
  • Retail or consumer goods industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.), software applications, networking, and security protocols

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary; however, occasional travel to company locations may be required. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
