Responsibilities and Duties
- Consult with staff about student needs
- Collaborates with parents to build partnerships that support school work, behavior, attendance, and student investment
- Serves as liaison between the school and outside agencies and clinicians, as needed to support students
- Acts as a link between home, school, and staff to address issues affecting students and help students maximize their learning
potential and cope with these issues - Helps families better understand school programs
- Serve as a 504 coordinator for students in grades 6 to 8
- Helps families make appropriate social agency contacts as needed
- Assists individual students directly with adjustment to school
- Participates with other members of the clinical team in case conferences and regular staff meetings.
- Enroll new students in grades 6 to 8.
- Provides individual, group, and crisis counseling to students as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.
- Leads whole-class SEL lessons
- Leads small-group therapeutic interventions.
- Provides individual counseling.
- Mass DESE Guidance Counselor or School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor certification
