Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $69,858.00 - $79,838.00   Full Salary Range: $60,677.00 - $108,580.00 Annually

Work Schedule:
 Monday - Friday;  6:30 AM - 5:00 PM


About the Role:

In this key supervisory role, you’ll manage section resources to deliver exceptional service in one of the city’s critical operational areas:

  • Stormwater construction and maintenance

  • Solid waste collection and disposal

  • Right-of-way landscaping and maintenance

You’ll oversee daily operations, project planning, budgeting, and staff supervision while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and exceptional service delivery. Collaboration is central—you’ll work closely with other divisions, departments, and partner agencies to keep our city moving smoothly and sustainably.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, organizing, and reporting on section projects and daily work activities

  • Managing budgets and resources to meet operational goals efficiently

  • Supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff to promote safety, accountability, and professional growth

  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other regulatory standards

  • Investigating and resolving citizen service requests and complaints

  • Supporting the development and oversight of annual section contracts

  • Participating in emergency operations, such as storm debris or snow and ice removal, with little or no notice


Your Career Path:

This role offers a strong foundation for growth within the Field Operations and Public Works divisions. Successful supervisors may advance to Division Manager or Departmental Leadership positions, or specialize further in infrastructure management, stormwater engineering, or environmental services—continuing to make a lasting impact on our community’s resilience and sustainability.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience in stormwater construction or maintenance, public works, utilities, sanitary sewer, water main systems, or a related field 
    • No High School Diploma/GED with 6+years of experience in stormwater construction or maintenance, public works, utilities, sanitary sewer, water main systems, or a related field 
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with MS Office, CAD, and GIS software 
  • 5 + years of progressive experience in the public works field
